      3.8.3 Payload reads in part:

      *****
      A SUBSCRIBE packet with no payload is a protocol violation. [MQTT-3.8.3-1].

      The following reference is to another copy of the same language in Appendix A. I am not sure how helpful that will be to any reader.

      A better reference (with hyperlink) to 4.8 Handling protocol violations, which tells the reader what to do about protocol violations.

      I would reword 4.8 just for consistency reasons to say "protocol violations." Are these the only errors with defined outcomes?
