      Hide

Make the definition precise with regard to the plane of the initial polygon and how the depth is determined on an axis normal to that plane.

It would be useful to ensure reasonable consistency with the comparable situation for <dr3d:rotate> with regard to starting, stopping, and the "direction" of the angle through which rotation occurs. <for dr3d:rotate> the front is always the starting point and the positive-angle direction is determined by the right-hand rule. This is not enough to understand the direction that <dr3d:extrude> depth takes from the plane of the initial polygon, however.

      Description

In the section 10.5.5 description of <dr3d:extrude> it is not clear which face is the front face and which face is the back face of the extrusion. Furthermore, it is not clear in which direction from the plane of the initial polygon the depth is measured. Since the depth is also a signed quantity, it is not clear whether the sign of the depth will change which face ends up being the front and which the back.

[Note, this was noticed in the review of Errata 02 reconciliation with ODF 1.2. It is a defect of all of ODF 1.0 ... Errata 02 .. ODF 1.2.
