An event is very similar to a manageable entity. It has a type and arbitrary attributes. Rather than an "ID", the event has a timestamp.

A managed container could be configured to send event notifications to an address. The address for events could even be specific to the event type.

      Description

This specification is strictly request-response oriented. There is no provision for a managed container to raise unsolicited events. This limitation forces developers of management applications to trade-off network bandwidth for responsiveness. If it is required to respond to a change in state (i.e. a link-loss) in a short time, the state of the agent must be polled rapidly.

AMQP provides the fundamentals for publish/subscribe which is very appropriate for event distribution. This specification should include this capability.
