This was discussed during resolution of issue ~~CAMP-177~~ (https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/CAMP-177) and it was decided to keep both the 'type' and type uri attributes.

Description

Now that every resource has a type_definition_uri attribute that references the type_definition that defines that resource is the 'type' attribute still necessary? We need to explore the use cases and determine if the information in 'type' is redundant.
