      This document defines a communication protocol, several processing profiles, transport and security bindings by extending the digital signature service (DSS) core protocols and elements to enable the creation of document signatures by using local signature computation. These profiles account for characteristic separations of concerns among a DSS conforming server and various client type classes, as derived from the capabilities of the latter. Use cases for scenarios with clients offering secure signature creation devices (SSCD) are described in detail, to ease the implementation of the specified artifacts. Samples for considered SSCDs are national electronic ID (eID) cards, the European Citizen Card (ECC) and other mobile devices, where the SIM card can be used as SSCD.

      I suggest some tweaks to the abstract.
      1. replace forward reference with sufficiently expanded name like e.g. "Digital Signature Service Core Protocols and Elements"
      2. reword to make it an even better decision point for a curious mind to continue reading the document or skipping it on her way to find the seeked information.

      The proposed abstract is only a first of several expected drafts
