      Developing an event list was proposed at the CAP Workshop August 2016. Eliot Christian provided the following overview:

      Regarding the harmonization of the mandatory CAP "event" element, I think the basic idea is that some group would compile lists of terms currently in common use and the EM TC could then publish these freely in a thesaurus structure as a "common practices" resource. This resource could, of course, include text terms in common use within the CAP "eventCode" element as well. I think it could also include terms from emergency-related thesauri drawn from library and information science practices such as information cataloging.
