The purpose of EMIX is to expand participation in energy markets without pre-supposing participants, market structures or technology. As an information model that cuts across the Smart Grid, EMIX must be usable for a broad range of participants and industries. Particular market contexts should conform the information model for use in their own transactions. (See Energy Interoperation) Ensure this text is in the first sections of the specification.
