The purpose of EMIX is to expand participation in energy markets without pre-supposing participants, market structures or technology. As an information model that cuts across the Smart Grid, EMIX must be usable for a broad range of participants and industries.

Particular market contexts should conform the information model for use in their own transactions. (See Energy Interoperation)

Ensure this text is in the first sections of the specification.

While generalizing and attempting to cater to multiple industries is a great noble intent, our thoughts are that this would create greater opportunities for confusion among practitioners /implementers and defeat the merit objectives of standardization.
