The term is a standard financial / markets term. A typical definition is:

The seller of a call option or a put option in an opening transaction. The option writer receives a premium and incurs an obligation to sell (if a call is sold) or to purchase (if a put is sold) the underlying asset at a stipulated price until a predetermined date.

EMIX should make no effort to define, redefine, or modify standard market language. The draft reviewed capitalizes "Option Writer" three times, implying that EMIX defined it. Those capiltalizations have been removed and it now appears everywhere as "option writer"
