In ODATA-763 we introduced a simplified syntax for invoking a function with implicit parameters. While the proposal in ODATA-763 called for omitting the parens in this case, the application seems to have made the parens optional.

Note that we have also made the parens optional for the case where there are no parameters to be passed to the function.
