      With ODATA-228 we introduced free-text search on service and entity-container level with the system query option $search.

      This simplistic approach has the drawback of making the resource type dependent on the presence or absence of the $search query option: if present, the URL identifies a collection of entities, if absent the service root identifies the service document and the entity containers identify the Cartesian product of their entity sets.
