Returning 200 in placeof 204 no content

OData-585 proposes supporting the ability to return 200, with a special structure providing more information, in place of 204 No Content for various scenarios. If we expect to do this we should make clients aware of this potential pattern in 4.0.

Another option for carrying additional status information would be a specially defined header.
