      Description

ODF 1.1 says for sections: "If sections are linked via DDE, their linking information is represented by <office:dde-source> elements." Which implies that intra-document sections can be linked via DDE, whereas the current language in ODF 1.2 (5.4.1) rather explicitly uses DDE for external data sources. (Sections are wholly described in terms of external content.)

I am not certain if any applications used DDE to link sections or not so cannot offer an opinion on the current language and existing applications.

I suspect the distinction was meant to be to use <text:section-source> for internal resources but that is supposition on my part.

      That is:

      1) External - DDE
      2) Internal - text:section-source
