      Description

1.2 Normative References reads in part:

      *****
Cerf, V., "ASCII format for network interchange", STD 80, RFC 20, DOI 10.17487/RFC0020, October 1969, http://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc20.
      *****
You cite it (once) under 2.9 String saying:

      *****
Unicode incorporates ASCII [RFC0020] and the characters of many other international character sets.
      *****

I'm not sure why it merits mentioning. Especially in normative text. Unicode speaks for itself.

I have separate comments on specifying the ASCII character set for names.
