Clarifying status of Telegram and Discord apps with regards to the Baseline project

      • Ask that the channels cease using the Baseline logo. Discord uses it for their channel, not sure about Telegram (@Chet)
      • Ask that any descriptions of the channels to be phrased to be clear about the relationship. For example, I request that the Discord channel name be changed from 'Baseline Protocol Community' which suggests a formal standing to something like 'Baseline Protocol Interest Group' which does not. (@Chet)
      • Remove the bridge between Slack and the two channels. (@Claudia via Sonal)

      Description

      OASIS OP Admin received a complaint about restricted access to the Telegram and Discord Baseline chat groups. This caused us to review their status with regards to the project.

      It is our conclusion that the groups were set up when the Baseline project first began as independent apps with no official ties to the OASIS project. In other words, they are not tools provided by OASIS to support the project and thus we will not try to get involved in their administration.

      We also believe that the status of the channels is not clear. As configured, they can be confused with official assets of the Baseline OP. We are taking the actions described in the resolution field to clarify this.

      Taking these actions will position the apps as independent groups of people interested in Baseline but not official channels for activity, discussion, and news.
