It would be helpful for management software and containers to be make inquiries of a specific node instance within a template in order to support activities such as discovery, problem determination, and audit.

Examples might include interfaces to return node configuration information, logging information, or other information that might be useful for auditing.

More discussion of what Nodetype Interfaces would be needed to generalize these sorts of capabilities.
