The current definition and use of the DebitNote is as a document that is sent by a customer to let the supplier know that they may issue an invoice. This confuses users, who mistake it for a debit note that can be used in relation to an invoice to modify it's amount, similar to a credit note. The latter type of debit note exists and is common in many regions and industries.

Can we therefore deprecate the current definition and documentation for the DebitNote document type and instead use the same document type as a debit note to modify an invoice?
